Galeria Perdana is the inspiration of the 4th Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Bin Mohamad and Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah Bte Mohd Ali. It aims to store, display and share with the public the various awards, souvenirs and gifts received from Heads of State, local and foreign leaders as well as the Malaysian community during his administration as Prime Minister. This is in line with the understanding that every collection on display at Galeria Perdana belongs to the government and the people of Malaysia. With signs of friendship from around the world, visitors and tourists will enjoy the opportunity to appreciate the uniqueness and preserve the value of artistic and cultural heritage from within and outside the country. Galeria Perdana also gave the presenter a token of appreciation, recognition and sincerity for the contribution from the contributors to Tun who has brought Malaysia to the world stage during his tenure as Prime Minister of Malaysia. Galeria Perdana was inaugurated on 3 December 1995 and opened to the public from April 1996.

Mural art trail crosses city

IPOH: PERAK has unveiled the “Ipoh Mural Art” trail map which showcases the artworks in seven locations in the city here. This two hour-long trail will cover places from Jalan Tun Sambanthan to Jalan Bandar Timah-Jalan Panglima-Jalan Bijeh Timah-Jalan Market and Jalan Sultan Iskandar, before ending at Jalan Masjid. Most of the mural arts are drawn by local artists Eric Lai, Bryan Tan, Chris Chow and Mohd Najib Zainudin. Even the famed Ernest Zacharevic from Lithuania had contributed his efforts in creating a mural piece for Ipoh.
